Tanner's baby molar never dropped, his adult molar switched places with it. We made a visit with an oral surgeon and found that his baby molar had to be removed because it was stuck up in gums and going to eventually cause havoc for the roots of this back molars. In surgery, the surgeon's plan was to remove both teeth then replace his adult tooth. Tanner did great for the surgery; however, his adult molar didn't make it as they had thought. His adult molar hadn't yet calcified (grown up).
Tanner's surgery took 1.5 hrs. The picture is of him post surgery. There came a time where he was to be discharged, the nurses pulled up a wheel chair to him to which he (like an old stubborn man) protested getting in to, "I don't need a wheel chair, I can walk on my own." ~What kid passes up a wheelchair ride?
Tanner was back up and running within 2 hrs.
