Small Town Fair
Although I lived there for a short 1.5 yrs, Mariposa has always held a special place in my heart. My family would make annual (or close to annual) trips to Yosemite. Mariposa is the gateway town to Yosemite. I attended this fair (2-3 yrs in a row) when I was a young teen and ohhh the memories....
I am a little bit of a paranoid mom when it comes to my kids and big places/big crowds. Going to a fair hasn't been on my I gotta do that with my kids list. Hubby is in between jobs right now and actually home for the Labor Day weekend, I remembered that Mariposa does their fair every Labor Day weekend. Dane and I decided to bring the kids to the Mariposa fair.
What is lovely about a small town country fair?
*entry without having your purse/bag checked over or snooped into.
*It looks Exactly the same as I remember ~ no ridiculous fluff
*not crowded at all and so clean.. everything
*the 4H kids interacted with the boys and taught a lot about the farm animals the boys met
*the auctioning of the animals was fun for the boys to see (Tanner wanted to yell the last bid for each animal as he wanted to save them all)
*the rides and carnival section was small and not overwhelming
*everyone was so kind and friendly
*momma was so relaxed and enjoying every second because I knew my boys were safe and having a blast
** being there X years later with my own little family.
**My boys were on a ride together and I kissed and embraced my hubby. I'm sure that was just a dream when I was there as a young teen. ;o)
The Mariposa fair is every Labor Day weekend~ Bring your family.. experience a true small town fair.
