Cole's rash on Saturday

Cole had an MRI scheduled at John Muir Hospital. Dane and I brought him in at 7:30am for his pre-op. Cole was given an id bracelet, which he protested over and the nurse took it off. The nurse gave Cole a little "happy juice" to put him into a relax/ drunk mode. Our baby, that we took straight from bed to the hospital was still wearing his sleepers, you know the ones that zip up w/ feet. A half hour went by and Cole was in complete happy drunk mode when the nurse decided to place the id bracelet back on him. As she was doing this I was looking down at what she was doing and noticed his hand was covered w/ tiny red spots. I questioned this sight and zipped down his sleeper to see if his chest was covered as well. Yes, he was covered with a hive looking rash. The nurses rushed to Cole's bedside and exclaimed that he is allergic to Verced (the juice concoction) ,put Cole on the respiratory monitor to check his breathing, and called the Anesthesiologist to come ASAP. He arrived and was very disappointed in Cole's allergy to Verced, stated that an allergic reaction to this drug is rare, Cole will have to go straight to recovery to be watched for 1hr, and the MRI would have to be rescheduled.
Wow, what a fiasco. You never really think about how an allergic reaction that presents itself as a rash could possibly go into further effects until you have nurses and doctors running around and showing such concern.
Cole is fine, the hive-like rash went away after 2 days. He seemed pretty oblivious to it. :o) We will try this again w/ out Verced Friday the 30th. Please pray that they find nothing and that he is fine.

Happy Anniversary

11 years married, already! Crazy thing is.... We didn't realize it was our anniversary until the morning sitting in church. I looked down at the church program and noticed the date, Jan 11. Yikes, having two young children sure does put the parents into different states of mind.
Having the desire to stay warm, and comfortable in our own home, we decided to order in with Johnny Corinos. The meal was delicious by a comfy fire and we relaxed as our blessings ran around the house comfort instead of being scorned for not staying seated in a restaurant.;o) Perfect Anniversary~
Happy Anniversary to my Dear Husband! I love you and my love for you keeps growing. You are a wonderful and kind man, and a fantastic father to our children.

Sky

Sky is his/ her name. Sky has an unknown gender as she (I'll call her this as I think she is a girl)was too young when the previous owner brought her to the vet. Her name had to be gender neutral so I thought Sky would be a nice name as her fur is a beautiful, soft cloud and her eyes are as blue as the sky.

Happy New Year!

How do you explain what New Year's Eve is to a young child? You bring them outside in their jammies and let the scream, "Happy New Year!" while hitting pots and pans at the stroke of midnight.

What a beautiful Gingerbread house!
Each year Tanner has built a gingerbread house. This year, Cole was able to join in on the fun. The boys build it to leave up during the Christmas Holiday; when Santa arrives for his visit, he takes the house back with him to the North Pole to share with the Elves.

Joy to the World

"Look Mommy, it's snowing!"

December
Cole decided that the Christmas tree wasn't complete without snow. We caught him halfway through joyous moment. I walked into this hearing him squel w/ delight, "Look Mommy, it's snowing!" He managed to empty a couch pillow's stuffing and created a winter wonderland. If you look closely, you can see that his snow made it's drift to high places on the Christmas tree. Oh, how Dane and I laughed. What could we do? A three year old filled with excitement in his own creation of snow fun. ;o)

Thanksgiving

November
Thanksgiving Day was spent at my Aunt Gail and Uncle Don's in Healdsburg, CA. Everything was wonderful. My cousin Sara was there with her new little boy Shane and her husband Jim, my cousin Jake and his girl Sara, and my parents. Dinner was lovely and the boys behaved very well. After, we left to my parent's home for a little visiting time before heading back home.

Photo shoot excursion

November

We took the boys for a drive, looking for a nice location that would provide a great nature backdrop for the boys' Holiday '08 photos. While out on our excursion, we ran into flocks of Turkeys. Tanner was so tickled with delight at this wonderful Thanksgiving icon that he has been learning so much about at school, he couldn't believe that they were real and right outside our car. We also saw herds of deer. They were so beautiful.

Cole points out the running path.

And there they go!
